Back in Barcelona we spent the day working, eating and resting up from the 12+ miles we walked in Andorra. The next and last day in Barcelona we couldn’t resist making it a beach day. After doing the city and tourist spots earlier in the week the plan was to pick up where we left off and head to the marina. The marina has a bridge that is famous for it’s wavey design, but the best part for us was as we were walking across it a few sailboats came along and needed to get through. Unlike normal drawbridges that open up to allow boats through, this bridge broke into sections that spun open. It was really cool to witness. Like a giant transformer bridge. We continued walking until we reached the first beach. By now we were extremely hot and took our first dip in the water. The stretch of beaches runs several miles with a nice promenade for walking as well as a bike path for bikes and skaters. The entire stretch has restaurants and beach bars where you can grab snacks or over priced sangrias as well as guys walking the beach selling mojitos, beers and water. Each beach is divided by a rock jetty and has it’s own personality. There’s a more family orientated one, a muscle beach with a gym and a nude beach. We sampled each, swimming and drinking along the way. The beach scene here was amazing and so much better than in Greece. It was the perfect way to wrap up our time in Barcelona. We had a final dinner of Tapas and paella, got some laundry done and packed up for the next stop, Pamplona. Time to fulfill that life long bucket list item and run with the bulls. We booked this 3 years ago and it’s finally happening.
