The ride from Mostar back to Croatia was easy and very scenic. The 2.5 hour ride ended up taking us closer to 3.5 hours because we kept stopping to enjoy the views along the coast. Crossing the border was a breeze. Once we arrived in Dubrovnik we dropped off our bags then dropped off the rental car and walked back to our room stopping for lunch along the way. We got a small apartment just outside the Old City walls that had a kitchen and a washing machine. Clean clothes and we were off to find dinner. We paid a bit more than we should have but we wanted to explore the Old City at night before the crowds of tourists arrived in the morning. This is where Game of Thrones was primarily filmed so you can go five feet without it in your face. The following morning we got an early start again before the tourist buses arrived again. First, we did the walk around the top of the Old City wall which offered amazing views of the old city as well as the ocean. It was very over priced though. After that we explored some more before the mid days heat and tourist rush hit. We took our laptops to a hookah lounge and enjoyed some snacks while we got some work done. After a quick dinner we decided to do one more touristy thing before leaving Dubrovnik. We took a cable car ride to the top of a mountain overlooking the Old City and enjoyed a spectacular sunset, grabbed a pastry and called it a night. The city has character and is worth a visit but make it a short one as it is extremely expensive. The place we stayed was affordable and really a good deal as far as location and size. If you’re a GOT’s fan it’s a can’t miss destination.
